One of US News & World Report’s top 10 psychiatric hospitals, The Austen Riggs Center has been a pioneer in training psychiatrists in the art and science of psychotherapy for the last century. We are accepting applications for the 2-year Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and linked 4-year ACPE-Accredited Adult Psychoanalytic Training Program. This program is, to our knowledge, the only program where one receives a salary for psychoanalytic training. The Fellowship offers a competitive salary, full benefit package, and a stipend to cover 2 years of your personal psychoanalysis.
The training offers the following benefits:
Become a sophisticated psychotherapist, working four-times-weekly with complex patients in a top psychiatric center
Learn (through supervision with senior clinicians, seminars, lectures, meetings and case conferences) about the identification and treatment of the biological, intrapsychic, familial and interpersonal conditions that lead to psychopathology
Learn to engage social and family context to understand and treat patients
Learn to understand and use the meaning as well as the pharmacologic effects of medications in Psychodynamic Psychopharmacology
Enhance leadership and consultative skills for treatment integration through participation in an interdisciplinary psychodynamic treatment team
Learn group therapy and group dynamics in a psychodynamic therapeutic community
Engage in psychodynamic research and clinical writing
Learn through a personal psychoanalysis
Feel free to contact us with any questions.
