Psychiatry Network 2019 Women Physicians Conference

Connect, Build, Thrive

After the overwhelming success of the first Annual Psychiatry Network Women Physician’s Conference in 2018, Dr. Christina Girgis and Dr. Adrienne Yourek are putting together the second conference, to be held in beautiful and scenic Leesburg, Virginia at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa from September 26-28, 2019.

This year an anticipated 150 women will come together for learning, support and networking. This conference will offer 15 hours of live AMA PRA Category 1 CME, through unique expert-led didactic, extemporaneous and breakout sessions.

There will also be group social activities and meet-ups planned, and support group lunches each day for those interested.

If you are feeling like you need a conference where you can learn as well as connect with other professional women then this is the conference for you. There is no other psychiatry-themed conference out there like this one!

Testimonials From The 2018 Conference

The Psychiatry Network’s first annual (2018) Women Physicians Conference is the best professional conference/retreat experience that I have ever had! The Women’s Psychiatry Group on Facebook has been a special place where smart, supportive, thoughtful, physicians have been helping each other practice psychiatry in many different settings. The opportunity to meet in person cemented those ties. Imagine a conference designed for you, by colleagues who have keen intuition, shared experience, and who take the time to find out what you want and need in a professional meeting. From relevant psychiatry updates, to specialized topics on being a woman physician and leader, to small dinner groups designed to build friendships and peer relationships, this was an ideal intellectual and community building environment. I look forward to next year!
— KAREN BLACKMAN, M.D., MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY, EAST LANSING, MICHIGAN
Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work! Our organizers clearly put a lot of thought and work into the conference and it showed. It ran very smoothly and I appreciated having some time for relaxing and social networking built in. This conference really helped me shift gears with regard to current career changes and it could not have come at a better time. It was clearly well-thought out and relevant for women in Psychiatry. I felt it was much more helpful and tailored to my needs than larger conferences in our field. I am very grateful!
— LAURA ADLER, M.D., PSYCHIATRIST, EL PASO, TEXAS
*Loved* having it at a resort because it was so relaxing, rather than a typical city hotel! I loved this experience so much!! Favorites were self-defense, mood & food, the chocolate tour (even if personally melting/exhausted by the end!), the small dinners, and the spontaneously planned Psych Hike.Again, thank you so much for putting on this incredible event! Can’t wait to attend next year, and will do my best to recruit my other psych friends to sign up too!
— ELISA CHENG, M.D., PSYCHIATRIST, BELMONT, MA
I can not say enough wonderful things about the Psychiatry Network’s Women Physician’s Conference 2018. It was so well organized, and the location was just perfect. The topics were put together so thoughtfully, and every session was useful in it’s own way. It was truly a great weekend of learning, and networking, while unwinding and having fun. Being an early career psychiatrist, it inspired me and showed me what all I could be in the future!
— YAZHINI SRIVATHSAL, M.D., M.B.A., PSYCHIATRIST, SCOTTSDALE, AZ
